Blockchain-enabled Information Systems in Global Supply Chains and Logistics

Global supply chains increasingly depend on complex information flows that span organizational, national, and regulatory boundaries. Blockchain-enabled information systems introduce decentralized data management, shared trust, and automated coordination mechanisms that address long-standing challenges related to transparency, traceability, and coordination in logistics networks. This article develops an integrated perspective on blockchain-enabled information systems for global supply chains and logistics, combining architectural design, analytical modeling, and empirical evaluation. A layered system architecture and quantitative performance model are proposed and validated through scenario-based analysis. The results demonstrate measurable improvements in traceability, coordination efficiency, and resilience across multi-tier supply networks.
